Increasingly people going through career transition are using the opportunity to take stock of their situation and reflect upon what it is they want to do next rather than immediately jumping into the next job role.
AAB offers individuals going through career transition an inspirational and potentially transformational opportunity through which they can:
We understand that a period of career transition is not easy. There can be considerable soul searching and the need to deal with strong and conflicting emotions frequently influenced by the circumstances which have led to the individual going through the transition. There is also a significant level of ambiguity surrounding the future.
We support participants carefully at this time listening to their needs, understanding their aspirations, helping them to move from previous frames of reference to consider ideas about the right next option for them using a process of executive coaching and personalised support.
Individuals are matched to opportunities based upon their experience, aspirations and personality meaning that the experience is highly personal to them. Upon return, the coach supports them to reflect upon their learning, integrating the experience into their plans and re-crystallising behaviours while acting as a sounding board for new ideas. The coaching can dovetail with other coaching inputs the individual may be receiving at this time or can be used independently with possibilities to extend the level of coaching support depending upon individual requirements. Once they have completed their assignment the individual joins the AAB network of returned assignees for ongoing support throughout the remainder of their careers.
For those participants that choose to move into consultancy, self employment or a portfolio career, an AAB Career Transition assignment also provides first-hand experience of a consultancy assignment, a case study to put on their CV and a story with which to engage prospective clients.
