Leadership Development

Since 2007, we have been supporting Ernst & Young to develop their leadership talent through a programme of Outzone Experiences provided to individuals on their Accelerated Leadership Programme (ALP) and partner track processes.

So far 10 individuals have undertaken assignments at range of innovative and exciting partner organisations driving social value in India. In May 2008 Ernst & Young hosted AAB’s inaugural ‘Gathering’ which brought together over 60 returned assignees, partner and company representatives and associate staff from the UK and India.

Julia Jameson, Director of Talent Management EMEIA at Ernst & Young says:

“The single biggest impact that the programme has had so far is a massive increase in personal confidence. Clearly by taking people to a very different environment where they may be asked to do something quite similar to their day job, but in a very different context and a very different time frame, has really helped them grow the confidence that they can operate in different environments”.

Here is some of the feedback from participants

“My Outzone experience was, on every level, more than I had expected. I learned so much about myself – as much through work as outside of work – and made some friendships for life that I never anticipated.” - Maggie Stilwell, Partner

“Professionally I was able to experience a number of new challenges which I would not have gained exposure to in my current role. I feel I built a whole new skill set that I will regularly call on in my new role at EY, and this will hopefully accelerate my progression within the firm.” - Simon Anderson, Senior Manager

“I take a great deal away from the assignment. It broadened my perspectives and has increased my appetite for getting more hands-on experience of how organisations are run in other parts of the world. Overall, I learned a lot about how a strong set of principles and ethics could be inherently set into an organisation, without compromising its success from a commercial perspective.” – Mike Jenkins, Senior Manager
