We look to support organisations that are making a positive and powerful difference to people’s lives in the developing world.
The partners we work with are diverse. Some are quite large while others are small. Some are not-for-profits others are small businesses. They may be urban or rural and may work in a variety of sectors including education, health, economic development, disability, human rights, environmental technologies, nutrition, HIV/AIDS, fair-trade and others. This diversity provides us with a range of different organisations to match to the profiles of the individuals and clients we work with.
We support our partners to develop, grow and deal with organisational change by providing them with access to the expertise of highly talented and experienced professional people to work on the challenge they are facing. By working in this way, we aim to help our partner organisations to make a bigger and better impact upon society in the Developing World.
We have two main ways of engaging partners:
AAB manages a portfolio of innovative partners driving social change in India and Africa. We aim to support portfolio partners over a longer term 3-5 year period with a range of assignments that help them to address the challenges they are facing. Assignments may build upon one another or address distinct aspects of the organisation.
By working in this way, we develop a deep understanding of the partners we work with, which helps us to provide the highest impact assignments for all parties concerned.
A regional partnerships manager manages the relationships with the partners, helping them to identify pieces of work and supporting them to get the most from the process. Assignee support consultants ensure that participants are fully briefed and supported locally for the duration of their assignments.
These are organisations that we help to support through involvement in different programmes. They may be supported through one-off assignments, identified to participate in specific projects or programmes or work with AAB through relationships they already have with one of AAB’s client organisations.
We are always keen to hear from organisations doing interesting work that may want to participate in our programmes in some way. The portfolio of long term partners is dynamic and operational in India and Africa. Associate partners may be based anywhere.
If you are interested in understanding more about partnering with AAB, please contact us.
It was a pleasure to have Simon [the AAB Assignee] at the Foundation. His professional approach, willingness to learn, ability to interact with people from divergent backgrounds and the competences he brought to bear on the project; all put together, have resulted in an innovative solution to a unique challenge. Simon did an outstanding job and we are looking forward to having many more Simon’s at the Foundation. Suresh Reddy, Lead Partner, The Byrraju Foundation
Thank you, Adopt a Business for all the effort you people have put in to organizing assignees to work with APD. Certainly these assignees experiences will make long term impact on APD and the disability sector at large and we are looking forward to your continuous support to work for the cause to make society accessible for people with disability. Mr Hiremath, Programme Manager, the Association for People with Disability
We needed someone who was perceptive, who was sensitive to what we were doing, somebody who would flourish and help us flourish and I think we found the right person in Mike [The AAB Assignee]. Though it’s early I’m already seeing a change. I am seeing that people are less burdened and there’s more re-organised structure and things are being done in a more organised manner.
