Matthew Farmer - 03/07/2008
Following an extensive strategic consultation and planning process, Adopt a Business is now fully operational in Africa. We are now able to offer a range of assignment opportunities with a portfolio of exciting partner organisations operating in a number of different African countries. Assignment opportunities will be available to be undertaken from January 2009 initially within Zambia and Malawi and subsequently rolling out to other countries such as Tanzania, Uganda and Mozambique.
In addition to assignments with our own partners opportunities we are also able to offer consultancy support to the increasing number of organisations looking to establish programmes which will engage their employees with development initiatives in the region.
Adopt a Business’ African operations will be headed up by Colin Williams, OBE. Colin has a wealth of experience having been based in Africa since 1974, living and working in 6 different African countries in a variety of roles during a career which included a number of years as Africa Director for Action Aid responsible for 1200 African-based staff throughout the region. He was awarded an OBE in 2002 “for his contribution to the fight against poverty in Africa”.
